The roots of this legacy trace back to 1958, when George Ghiz founded Paddock Pools. Over the following decades, the company became one of the most respected names in the industry, introducing generations of homeowners to backyard living and hydrotherapy. During the 1990s and early 2000s, the Ghiz family sold tens of thousands of Sundance® Spas and Jacuzzi® hot tubs across Arizona. Remarkably, many of those spas are still being serviced today — a testament to the durability of the products and the long-term relationships built with customers.

In 2014, David and Melanie Ghiz launched Imagine Backyard Living with the goal of continuing that tradition while focusing specifically on hot tubs and complete backyard living environments. Their vision was to create a space where homeowners could truly experience the benefits of hydrotherapy before making a decision. The result is a 15,000-square-foot showroom featuring fully designed backyard displays, integrated outdoor living spaces, and private soak rooms where customers can try Jacuzzi® and Sundance® spas firsthand.

This “try before you buy” philosophy reflects a principle David learned from his father decades earlier: the best way to understand a product is to experience it. Rather than relying on sales talk, Imagine Backyard Living encourages customers to feel the difference themselves. "We had a good experience purchasing our hot tub and the necessary follow up from sales to installation to orientation. We think we purchased a quality piece of equipment and have been enjoying the benefits it provides. There are cheaper products out there, and we did our research and went to several places and looked at several brands, but you get what you pay for. What we are most pleased with is the installation team of Casey Porter, Kelly Porter and their two workers Harley and Jesus. Casey's team is outstanding in all areas important. They are professional, have integrity, are trustworthy, are reliable, do a beautiful job, clean up everything, are timely, and very personable. They felt more like friends/family than hired workers. We had zero concerns and would welcome them for any project within their wheelhouse, which is quite a lot. They went above and beyond and we have received many compliments on our new backyard. They dug out an existing huge old fountain/pond that took up an 8' x 14' space. They took out 110 electric and ran 220 and prepped and paved the area so our new Jacuzzi could go there. They fixed crooked old pavers that were tripping hazards that we didn't even ask them to fix, but they saw problems and addressed them. They ran a water line and electrical to another area and built a beautiful fountain from scratch, drilling holes in the rocks, rather than installing a pre-made fountain from Costco which we almost purchased. Casey is a creative artist with a good eye for detail and made the surrounding area aesthetically pleasing, even with matching our 30 year old pavers. They have decades of experience. They are top notch and we highly recommend them. And then when it was all finished and we had orientation on how to use the new hot tub, Kim was great with teaching us and answering immediate and even follow up questions. "

"My wife and I researched hot tubs extensively and contacted multiple vendors online and by phone before deciding on visiting four of the vendors in person. Although I am a previous hot tub owner, we visited each vendor with an open mind and ready to ask a lot of questions. We did have ideas about what we were looking for, however. We ended up wet-testing three of the hot tubs we were considering. Without going into a ton of detail about doing your research or questions everyone interested in a new hot tub should ask, wet-testing and choice of vendor are the most critical factors for any hot tub purchase. From the start, Imagine Backyard Living just stood above the rest. Not just the quality of their products, but their ownership, sales, showroom, exceptional customer service, delivery service and setup, and continued service and support after purchase. They were never critical of other vendors or their products just to make a sale. To us, the former is a red flag for any business or person. We ended up purchasing a Sundance Cameo 880, a simply amazing hot tub. Your choice of course is a personal decision, but we would not consider another vendor or product here in Arizona. They are that good. I was not paid to write this review, not employed by Imagine Backyard Living, nor a spokesperson for Sundance hot tubs, just an extremely satisfied hot tub owner."

"What a great experience. From the moment we walked in the door at Imagine, to delivery and the spa orientation, truly white glove treatment. They are the World’s Largest Single Jacuzzi dealer for a reason. Thank you David, Nancy, and Kevin for making this an enjoyable experience. If you go anywhere else, you truly are missing out. Imagine sets the bar. At first I thought they would be the most expensive but I was mistaken. Their prices were much better than all of the other 5-6 different stores we visited plus the quality of the product is second to none. We walked in on a Tuesday and it was delivered on Friday. We love our Jacuzzi hot tub and are SO thankful to have found Imagine. I didn’t feel like we were just another sell. Oh..and did I mention, we love the spa!!! Wow! Now that is an experience in itself!"
